Guardian Angel Run
It sure doesn’t feel like spring and summer are on the way, but the calendar shows that Memorial Day is coming fast. Once again we would like to do our part in kicking off the “unofficial start” of summer by holding the Guardian Angel Run in Whitefish Bay. The date will be Monday May 26th at 9:30 a.m.- Memorial Day. This is the fifth Guardian Angel Run, a 5k fun Run and Walk, which benefits Holy Family Parish School and Agape Community Center. Many of you have kindly supported us in the past by generously contributing and participating in the event. For those of you unfamiliar with our run, C’za and I started it as a way to come together to remember our son Peter who died in late May 2003. We borrowed the Guardian Angel theme from a Holy Family program in which older students befriend, mentor and work with younger children during the year. We hope to follow this example of stewardship by giving back to the school and community in a small way.
This year we would also like to make a contribution to the Jenny Crain “Make It Happen” fund. Jenny is a friend of ours who is known as an elite athlete in the running community and has won the Guardian Angel Run the past two years. She has always been a leader in this community and has given back many times over. Last summer she was seriously injured while on a training run on the East Side. These days, she inspires us even more with her spirit and determination during her long road to recovery. Information about Jenny’s rehabilitation can be found at www.jennycrain.net.
The day begins with a Run/ Walk starting at 9:30 am on Wildwood in Whitefish Bay (north of Hampton), followed by a “round-the-block” little Angel Children’s Run and beer, brats and other post race refreshments. What better way to kick off summer than to get a little exercise followed up with a beer and brat!
Our Angel sponsors (businesses or families donating $500 or more) will receive a logo on the back of the race t-shirt and acknowledgment during the event. Families or small businesses at this donation level should please contact me regarding entry forms/ fees.

The day and event have taken on a good deal of meaning to us as we continue to remember Peter and celebrate a great community of friends and neighbors we have in Milwaukee. Thanks for your consideration.
