You have often heard that sport is a great avenue to promote good health, respect, peace, camaraderie and joy.
In our case, soccer gave us all the above!
We come from all diferent parts of the world, Sweden, Lebanon, Czech Republic, Armenia, USA but we have been brought together through the game we love. It started as a simple idea through a soccer clinic durig our college time, where we held individual traning sessions to improve the athlete and more importantly to teach how to become a caring person, a better person.
As our clinic grew www.excellencyclinic.com we could never imagine the power of change we possesed as our numbers grew to hundreds. To bring all the great individuals together we decided on hosting a unique 3v3 tournamnet on a snowy November day to raise money and collect food for the homeless. As all our individual come from different parts of the city, are of different gender and age we decided to create the teams on our own. Who knew that would be our success story!!
The fact that the participants did not know who whas on their team until the day of the tournamenet was the icebreaker. It took away all pressure of winning and instead it promoted the ability to see the bigger picture. Respective teams came together, respect, fair play, taking responsiblity, getting to know new people, learning how to work together and realizing the reason behind the event (to help other people) where all valuable lessons the participants learned.
And so it continued as over the past 3 years we took the format and grew the event from 40 participants to 150. We raised $800 to $10,000 per event all due to our uniqe format, effective infrastracture and willingness to help other people.
Event after event our experience grew and we found the need to share our event management, organization, infrastracture with other sports and people who want to make a difference in the world. So even though we run our own events (3v3 Tournament and Soccer Mom Camp) across the country we also help other programs to host similiar events or we help them use our idea, our platform for a greater good.
Let it be to fight HIV, Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, poverty or racel issure we do not care. We are here to help you run an event for a better world.
